Better to smile and just keep your mouth shut.

Pretty sure I have shoes older than you and I've won more races than you'll enter.

@spectastic , what story can you tell about your team. Forget how good they are racing. Do you have any public interest stories? Anything press-worthy?

Yesterday, I didn't see anything come up about the UCI World Championships on my main news feeds.
But there was this guy that did around the world in <80 days. I expect Artemis is a happy sponsor.
This guy's racing status is not important.Around The World In Not Quite 80 Days, Cyclist Smashes Record : The Two-Way : NPR

The public doesn't really know what Cat 2/3 or podiums are so much, but they do know about charity drives, under privileged given opportunities etc. And they like stories.

This is true. It's why I mentioned in my first post that it could help if you were a recognized nonprofit. I like to say my team is a nonprofit that has a cycling team. Sure, if you look at our website or Facebook page/Instagram account, you'll see a lot of podium, race and ride pics, but our most prominent images are of our charitable contributions.

I didn't write my comments in the tone intended. I meant to say that I have had the same kind of conversation and it wasn't that well received. And I'm thinking in the future I won't say anything. No thank you, no discussion. Just smile and "good race."

OK, fair enough. Came off like you were giving me advice. I was just providing an example where I was giving advice to a guy I actually knew, and beat and was genuinely trying to help and it still wasn't received well.

Those would be some old shoes. Are you 60?
