Hmm don't think I would have done the same. I guess I'm just not a very good person or something.

Yeah, especially if I had lost the day before to the same rider, I don't think I would have waited.

We have girl who races on our team, she is great! She went out and raced the womens pro race, with a bunch of fuji girls, and the genesis scuba team etc.

She came around the last corner in 6th, crossed the line 6th and said "wow, that was a lot of fun" She probably could have made the podium, but she isn't out there to kick ass, just to ride her bike she says. We are trying to develop some sort of killer instinct in her, but I just don't think it's in her nature. She did beat the reigning jr womens national champ however.

That's our Velo (she hasn't been around much lately).
Been watching her career for about 3 years now.

Peter Stetina, related to Wayne or Dale (I think that was their name)
prominent racers in the late 70's early 80's?

Unfortunately, other motivations have taken over most athletes these days. But that is why it is called sport and not be-all end-all, or money grubbing, or ... Not that most people remember.

Geist beat her two days later in the criterium. Peter Stetina is related to Dale Stetina who was a multi-time national champion and presented his son with the jersey on the awards podium. I am in Park City right now for Masters Nationals and have been here since the elite nationals last week. In between I have been able to see some awesome junior and U23 racing.

Call me old-school.
If your opponent's bike falters, you attack right away and don't wait around to see what the problem is.
Part of racing a bike is knowing how to shift it properly.

If it was something beyond her control, then I'd do what Geist did. But if it's her own error, then that's bike racing.
