No Tour of Germany defence for Sinkewitz?
This is an interesting situation. In short:
1. Patrick apparently promised Lefevere verbally that he would extend his contract with Quick Step
2. Then Sinkewitz announced publicly that he was signing with T-Mobile (pretty stupid move, I'd say)
3. He won last year's Deutschland Rundfahrt, and now may not be allowed to participate by Lefevere in this year's edition
Oh what tangled webs we weave ...

Sounds like a bit of sour grapes by Lefevre. I read the other day that Sinkewitz denied ever verbally agreeing to sign another two year contract.
A bit of a shame really, he is a good rider and a top prospect for the future.
Lefevre may have aided this by more or less making Quickstep a team that really only focuses on the classics and Tom Boonen in the Tour. Many of the stage racers may end up leaving to join teams that are interested in stage races. There were rumours that Michael Rogers was leaving to join T-Mobile too.
Quickstep may end up as another Fassa Bortolo, a one trick pony.
