I do not count calories per se. Basically, I eat the same things all the time but very little, if any, snacking. I used to eat a potato and now I eat 1/2 of a potato. I used to have a banana with breakfast and now 1/2 banana and of course I am skipping some breakfasts. My guilty pleasure is avocado spread on fancy rosemary Italian crackers and cheese in the afternoon. My wine consumption is the same. This is not a tough diet but but no candy, cookies, pastry, snacks. I stop eating after dinner and my desert might be sugar free jello or an 80 calorie yogurt. I would be a total food bore at a party.

But all in all, things are going pretty well. At 165 this morning, a pound above my goal weight.

Weight popped up last week a couple pounds with vacation last week and a lack of exercise due to my strained hamstring. So, I'm experimenting with skipping breakfast this morning. I gotta say it isn't easy, but I intend to try it at least 2-3 days a week then maybe try to make it the norm.

back to my stable ~147.5 lbs. However - my composition is different, smaller legs, a little more upper body mass (fat and muscle) as I've been preparing for my backpacking trip. I did more jogging then backpack loaded stairs yesterday and was only sore towards then end and shortly after; I think I'm fairly conditioned and prepared for my trip now in two weekends.
When I have big aerobic capacity from high CTL on the bike, it's my hamstrings that feel mostly big. Like my thighs have the same width and apparent bulk, but the back of my legs just feel so full and thick. It's a good feeling. It will be close to 3 months before they feel this way again.

Race to the bottom. 162 this AM on Turkey Day. Yikes.
This AM we are climbing, Nautilas, Cardeno, Soledad Mountain Road and La Jolla Messa. We are not doing Via Capri - too dangerous and too much traffic but it is not as hard as the donkey hole we climbed in Croatia with no warmup.

Holding 165 this AM. My weight seems stable and my gym strength workouts have improved i.e. more upper body, core and glute strength. Power? Who knows.

I'm losing weight so fast I probably have cancer. Some people claim it's all the workouts, better eating, and having a new puppy but I still suspect cancer. At least I will die skinny.

168.5 this morning. I seem to have gained 4 pounds over the holidays. All things considered, not too bad.

Was down to 158 just a few months ago and let it creep back up to 162. Now I'm down at 160 again. I'd like to get a good body fat test to see what's really reasonable. I've been 154/155, and I think 150 wouldn't be crazy (sub 10% would be "crazy" for me).

Body weight has been right at 145 lbs (race weight) last few days, even a hair under at times. Power is coming up too, sweet.

I'm hovering around 174. Goal is to get under 170 by the end of February, and then get down even more as we enter "swimsuit season."
I think I should be able to do it. I've noticed that if I cut out beer, pizza and cookies, my weight goes down very quickly.

Currently standing at 6' and 168 lbs; baseline measurement was taken at 178 lbs in October 2021. My old "racing" weight was around 160-165...dabbled at 155, but felt super weak. The focus for me this season is primarily on track events, so I guess you can say I'm relatively svelte for that crowd

Sorry if that's a downer - for me it's a story that reminds me of my mom so it makes me happy.
Really just came out here to say I bought one of the garmin scales on a whim mainly because I am a dealer and was submitting an order anyway. Cool stuff. Even though I've had a bad fall/winter I am still only at 212 which is technically my post-covid weight I believe. Breaking 200 is theoretically possible this year.

52 yrs old, 1.68m (5ft6in) and 68kg (150lbs) at the moment. Sprinter, primarily, best suited to crits etc.
When I was 49yrs I was 86kg (189lbs) but in 3 months lost a lot and brought my weight down to 65kg (143lbs) by my 50th birthday.
The extra weight I have put on since October last year - flu and accident keeping me off the bike for lengthy periods - needs to come off, I felt much better at 65kg. In fact, I want to reduce to 62-63kg and see what impact that has since I live in a hilly region and climbing is what local cyclists value the most, as such, all races are biased towards the climbers which sucks for me.
I'm 3 weeks back into cycling, done an endurance week and this week started higher intensity work, but weight is slow to drop - which, according to my Coach is exactly what he wants, I'm just impatient to get back to where I was and test further reduction.
At my age now, I don't have the same drive or metabolism as I did in my 20's/30's and like eating! It's finding the balance between cycling ambitions and lifestyle generally.
