Simoni leaves Lampre
I can't see why this should come as any surprise. Lefevere said he wanted Simoni on his team for the Giro, and Simoni says he wants either QS or Cofidis. A wise move on Gibo's part, I think.

If Simoni goes to Quick Step, a team that is really set up for classic one day events and stage wins, but not long term GC support, I'd think they'd have to make some other significant changes to the team to be able to have a shot at working with Gibo...

Quick Step is picking up Garate who should provide nice support in the mountains. They seem to building a team more in the mold of CSC.
