MWCCC Schedule released!!!
Anyone else competing in the MWCCC this spring?
Here is the schedule: Feb 25/26 - Depauw Mar 4/5 - Ohio University/Ohio State University (Columbus,OH) Mar 25/26 - Marian College Apr 1/2 - Purdue Apr 8/9 - Western Michigan University Apr 22/23 - University of Illinois (Regionals) That Depauw race should be interesting |
What's the road course at Depauw like?
|
I have no clue what the Depauw course is like. They have done well the last few years though. Its southwest of Indianapolis, Im guessing its a fairly flat area????
Does anyone know which events are at each school? Im guessing it crit and road race for most, but last year there was some TTT and some ITT's in there |
thank god! i was wondering when it would finally come out.
|
I'll be going as staff advisor to my school's club. :)
|
Are you from OU or OSU?
|
Hey Alison_in_oh,
What are the courses at Ohio State and OU like? I would imagine the OU course to be pretty hilly, as its near the WV border. |

Is Western Michigan the one with the big hill from last year? I think that was in Michigan somewhere, but my memory is about as far from reliable as it can get. Why the heck did they delete the old routes and results from their website? Those were useful for letting new people get a feel for what the races were like.
Anyway, I'll be racing for the University of Toledo this year. I'll be the guy with a ghetto jersey. What categories are you guys? I'll be a B this year. |
Chances are that is the one you are thinking of. Kalamazoo has some pretty big hills. Unless you traveled way up to Marquett, but I highly doubt that.
I agree, the website is sub-par, its not even informative. |
I am from was up there in marquette. Northern Michigan University, the teams first year of racing. We hope to make it to atleast 3 races but they are all so far.
|
CMU is in the same situation. We are hoping to make it to most of the races though. Not quite as far as a drive for us ;)
|
The OSU crit course is fairly flat. However, the OU road course is quite hilly.
OSU did both a crit and road race two years ago, but starting last year, they started splitting the weekend between the two. I probably can only make 3 races this year, so I'll probably be OU/OSU, Marian and Purdue. Maybe another if I can. Not sure what cat I'll race. |
ONLY SIX, INCLUDING REGIONALS? Sucks to be in the midwest, I guess. I guess I'll bite and make a thread for the RMCCC Schedule which has been out for a while but was recently changed...

You have to remember that in the midwest we have snow until sometime April. Makes a spring road season a little difficult.
I would love to have our team host a race, but we are just kind of getting into it right now, maybe next year if MSU, EMU, or UofM would be interested in doing one together. |
Yeah - but a lot of places in the Rocky Mountain Region have snow into the spring too. They are called snow-plows. Last year one and a half of our races got snowed out.
|
Okay well then consider this. Cycling in the midwest sucks in general, cars run you off the road and the general public has no respect for those who are not sitting on the couch getting fatter. (Sorry a bit of a sour spot) Not to mention the fact that here in Michigan, the roads are so horrible from freezing/thawing, plows dont really work. They just take off the top layer of snow and leave the iced over pot-holes. I can't wait to get out of this state
|
You also have to remember that some races are added on later in the season. I believe the OSU/OU race was not on the schedule at the beginning of the season, but was added later.
Besides, the area (central and southern Ohio) has plenty of USCF racing. You can race every weekend in the midwest from March through September if you don't mind driving a little bit. |
Im not talking this road season but would your teams be willing to come up for a race at N. Mich U? We are about the same distance maybe a touch closer than Mich Tech which was regionals for mtn biking last fall.

yeah MN is not in our conference though. Youre right it would have to be late in the season unless we decide it to be for mtn biking in the fall.
|
Yeah, too bad too. The UP has some great road riding. Something that us trolls dont have too much of. I dont ride mountain, and we dont have many mountain riders here at CMU, so probably not.
|
The OU course is pretty hilly. Well actually, we don't really consider it to be that hilly, but to the rest of the conference its the hilliest course. The preliminary schedule had two more weekends on it but was cut out for reasons I do not know. It also doesn't help that we got our schedule about a month before the season started. We couldn't get any sponsors because they all require about 90 days prior notice.
I'm not going to be shy about this but our conference administration sucks. Its unorganized and slow. I can remember having the race schedule in December last season. |
