Race Report: Torrance Crit (not like EURO)

Hello All,

Did my first races of the year this past week. Haven't ridden a mass start race since the Manhattan Beach GP last August (though I have done some TTs during the fall). This past week I rode the El Dorado Tuesday Twilight Racing Series (Masters 40+) and the Torrance Criterium (Masters 45+ and Elite 3). Unlike EURO I cannot report any significant finishes but I can report that I achieved my two goals for the beginning of the season: (1) stay upright and (2) don't get dropped. Goal number (1) is not as easy as you might think as there were crashes in each of my races.

Rode my new Look KG481SL at the Torrance races and the bike felt very good and nothing fell off of it. I did manage to go off of the front with a few others for a lap during the Masters 45+ race and I didn't blow up. So all things considered, I couldn't have asked for a better start to the season.

Here is a link to a photo of me at the back of the Masters 40+ pack this past Tuesday:

Lastly, by the time I was near the end of Elite 3 race at Torrance (a total of 38 miles for both races on a 1/2 mile circuit) I was getting kind of dizzy from all of the turns.
