Mid-atlantic or New England? By looking at your location I would think south jersey is a bit of a reach just for a training series.

I'm not sure which part of the Mid-Atlantic you're looking for, but there's a weekly training series on Wednesday evenings from May through August in Greenbelt, MD (outside of DC). For more information, go here: www.route1velo.com (click on the "Greenbelt" tab, then click on "General Info")

Being a complete noob to road bike racing, what kind of crowd shows up for the C category? I saw the Cat5/Women/Juniors description and I don't want to be accused of sandbagging... For a 30-minute effort I could probably average 20-22mph. Will I be outclassed?
I know this horse has been beaten in countless "how fast do I need to be to race Cat5" threads, but I got the sense from a U of Md. rider I met on the road that the C class at Greenbelt is pretty pathetic, so I want to see what others think.
