Dragon's Challenge v. Savannah Omnium?

Both these races are Memorial Day weekend, both will draw from the southeast. Does anyone have any idea about the merits of each? Any ideas about whether there will be a decent women's field at either?

Ahem...

Allow me to shill for my club

It's less of a drive to Fayetteville than it is to Savannah.

Our flyer is better: https://www.crosscreekcyclingclub.org...um/FlyerV2.pdf

As for the Women's field, I can't speak to what we'll draw this year, but we had a decent draw last year.

We've got a cool video of the RR/TT course: https://www.crosscreekcyclingclub.org/Portal/

Did the Dragons challenge last year. Good race. Why are you doing Sat, Sun, Mon? Doesn't it make more sense to do Fri, Sat, Sun. I guess Im just frustrated cause all RR are on Sun and I try not to race on Sun- Lord's Day. N-E ways Dragons challenge is well orgainized, nice coarse, no traffic, good comp.

Yeah, but Fayetteville NC is the armpit of the universe. Savannah is actually a pretty cool town to spend the weekend.

It's really not as bad as it was back in the 70s/80s, I've got "Fayettenam" on my sig as a joke mostly.

We've got lots of restaurants, bars, movie theaters, a play house etc. Granted, there are parts of town that aren't nice, but point me towards any major city in the SE without a 'wrong side of the tracks' and I'll buy you a beer

They bulldozed Rick's in 1995 to build a Police Station

Hay Street is all cleaned up now, and actually pretty nice. There are a few botique shops, a nice rock climbing gym, and the best non-sleazy bars in town (The Highlander and Husk Hardware). The main drag for food/entertainment is Skibo RD.

As for badish parts, Bragg Blvd is kinda the 'strip bar strip' and the Murchison RD area is the oh-s***-no-s*** ghetto.

Savannah is in the top 25 for murders per capita. I don't go to Savannah anymore.
