Anyone familiar with NHIS (Loudon, NH) Racing?

I'm looking to embarass myself as an old fat guy trying to race and looking for a reasonably accepting environment. Any experiences here with the Thursday night races?

They have cycling on the Magic Mile? That's too cool, if it's so!

Here is the info for Loudon:
https://www.nhcyclingclub.com/index.p...=108&Itemid=61

I can't tell you too much about it. I'm moving to NH and did some research about the local scene and found it. I'll probably be down there for the July 27 or August 3 and later races. We'll see...

Also, check out this:

There is also a track cycling group in NH. I wouldn't call it a velodrome, but you can try out some fixed-gear oval riding.

Tons of races in NE, so there are a few places to try out some Cat 5 and maybe even some citizen races.

I would think they would use the whole road course, if it is still there (I left there in 2000).

It's got to be one of the best venues in the region for weeknight racing - closed course, big turnouts, lots of good racing! I try to get over there often.

Will I embarass myself if I'm not averaging 30 MPH?

Not at all - there are 4 different fields (A, B, C and D) - C and D are recommended for entry-level or first timers. All groups go off at 6:00 with a staggered start (30-second intervals). Dropped/lapped riders are allowed to rejoin their field.
