Ouch. I guess the story is that one of those PMU cardboard hands slashed Thor's arm on the final sprint. He was bleeding pretty impressively... Probably got into his triceps.

record for world's worst paper cut.
I don't get les frogs, there should be a 3ft gap between the spectator fences and the road barriers.

I wonder if he'll wash that jersey before mounting it in a shadowbox frame for his trophy room wall?

I wouldn't wash it. Makes a much better story this way.

Question is, if he lost enough blood, can he get a blood infusion or will it be considered blood doping? And if he is allowed to take blood, then he can continue to take blood (surreptitiously) and he will not be detectable, because he already has someone elses blood in his system, which is what one blood doping test looks for.

His bleed was small enough that there would be NO medical indication for a blood transfusion in a totally young, healthy individual.

Being that he got back a new, clean Maillot Jaune today I think he'll be OK.

But I'm not sure--I think I'd still wear the bloody one for intimidation purposes.

He's probably scheduled for a re-infusion before the TT anyways.

Every time I see the incident I can't help but notice that an instant before he comes in contact with the hand he brushes up against what looks like a camera held by a spectator. It also appears that he flinched at that moment.

Could it be the organizers find it far easier to ban the hands than cameras at that point in each stage?

I think another rider (Tom Boonen, maybe?) got clocked by a camera too. Seems like the organizers just need to control the crowds a little better. Maybe with a 1m buffer between the crowd and the "real" wall or something. Who knows...

It was a Camera Phone from the reports I read,

Thor needs to use his Mighty Mjolnir to swat down the next spectator who threatens to bleed him.

I wonder what the person that did that hit him with the camera or hand thing is thinking right now?

On the top secret enhanced close-ups, it was The Jan, and there was no cardboard finger. It was just being the finger of The Jan.
