Racing in Europe, a different perspective

I keep posting links to articles from this site. What the heck, here's another. Jonathan Vaughters comments on returning to America and what it's like racing in Europe.

Great article, thanks. Two guys from my area are on their team, Kirk Willett and Rusty Beall. I was a little surprised to see some of the great riders Primalliance signed this year, including Vaughters.

Great quote:

Their riding buddies are people like themselves, who are offbeat, different and eclectic. Most have chosen to be competitive cyclists despite the sneering of the mainstream, not the applause. So, in this little world, a group of friends, peers, or adversaries form every weekend, to see who's the best for the sake of it, and nothing more. Sport, in it's truest sense.
