OK, who took my tri-bars? Ontario Crit 8/27

I'm 30 minutes into a 45 minute 30+4/5 crit in Ontario when I decide to bolt for a prime. I didn't even know what the prime was for and I really didn't care. I found myself up near the front feeling good, the pack started slowing up a bit, none of my teammates showed for the race and I was getting a bit bored so I just took off. Nobody came with me. I soon had 200 yards on the field. By the time I got to the start/finish I probably had 250+. They announce my number for the winner of the prime and then they immediately announce another prime for tri-bars. I'm thinking OH MAN! I already have tri-bars and don't need another set but what the heck. So I keep hammering! Unfortunately this is the grand prix course which is 1.something miles and the it's a little windy. I'm hammerin, I'm hammerin, I'm breathin hard, I'm really laboring but maybe I got a chance at this. Then heading into the last corner I look down at my speedo and I'm only doin 22mph. I was out of gas. I look back and some guy is coming hard and fast off the front. I'm only about 200 yards from the start/finish and this guy blows by me and there goes my tri bars. Oh well, I did beat the rest of the pack back to the line. All I want to know is who was this masked man? Huh, who were you? Cause let me tell you something mister - awesome riding dude and enjoy them tri-bars!

BTW, they then immediately call 3 laps to go! I'm in oxygen debt and there's 3 laps to go! I did manage to recover enough to finish with the pack, top 30 maybe. Good times!!

This was the Tour of Amherstburg? Do you happen to know what the average was for the pack?

Oh yea, you guys up north have this little place called Ontario, Canada. I was in Ontario, CA - a little further south. Average speed, though, was 25.8 on my computer.

That's a sweet photo. I love the look of suffering on the guy at the far left. I can hear him saying "got... to... catch... that... bastard... off... the... front!"

lol, I can relate. I did a stage race in July and went off the front in the circuit race for a couple of laps. 50 meters from a 9 second time bonus, 2 guys come flying by me it ultimately cost me a podium position in the GC!
