My 2nd Crit - Race report

This morning I raced the Jason Grundel Wilmington Criterium. It was the 2nd crit I ever raced, I arrived a little nervous but feeling really good thanks to the advice I was given from you guys on how to ride yesterday.

The race was a 1 mile 8 turn figure 8 course through downtown Wilmington, DE. I got a bad start thanks to my HRM malfuntion and I fooled with it as I started. So I was dead last, 29th place. The pack stayed together for the first 2 or so laps then a small group went off the front. I was still way in the back. I passed a few riders then worked with for other guys for almost the rest of the race and we passed a bunch of riders. We were going at a nice pace and even lapped several riders. I felt pretty good at the bell lap and picked it up a bit. I ended up finishing 10th out of 29 and I was pleased with that result.

I look forward to some hard training through the winter and hope to get in a full season of racing next year.

Awesome! That's quite a good placing for your second race.

Finishing in the top 3rd for your second race is not too shabby at all. I'd be proud of that.
