So, I'll post here about my season, part deux I've never had to come back from a major mid-season injury before, so it will be a little bit of a learning process.

On a happier note, I just put in for my cat 1 upgrade, and assuming in addition is correct I have the points to get it.
Glad you are back and healing. Your decreased numbers sound like my "good" numbers. Plus another 50% . Congrats on the upgrade. I'm assuming you will get it!

Entire workout (147 watts):
Duration: 3:28:57 (3:30:44)
Work: 1842 kJ
TSS: 183.4 (intensity factor 0.726)
Norm Power: 160
VI: 1.09
Pw:HR: n/a
Pa:HR: n/a
Distance: 56.398 mi

Solo, pretty decent feeling, nothing special.

Since I'm trying to lose weight now, how do I use the kJ reading? I've read that it's approx 1:1 with calories, but I also thought that there was a factor of 1.25 or something in there somehwere.

My head unit did a weird thing. It went blank and restarted itself randomly (I was flipping through the wattages), and cleared all the data, except it didn't clear it. The head unit didn't show the data, it started from 0, but when I downloaded it, all the data is there. Weird. Maybe a battery problem? Not installed correctly and moving around or something?

Did a MAP test yesterday on slightly fatigued legs (3rd day of tempo/sst in a row) and yet still set a personal best (417W).

Now to just ride easy until a RR on Sunday (Master A, 120km).

Replaced batteries in the PT. First hard ride afterwards; Posted amazing numbers... then remembered I need to re-zero the unit.

recovery today. Next week we'll see if I can make big numbers; or if it was all the mis-calibration (boo).

they do; but there still seems to be an offset in the data. Either that or my FTP went up 40 watts in 6 weeks.

I'll let you decide which is more motivating. I know which I'd choose.

You might be on to something - when I replaced my PT batteries my number went up a bit, then again it was after a 2-week gap where I was riding... my theory is that not looking at the numbers helped me ride better.

Legs absolutely suck today on a long, slow ride. The P/1/2/3 race tomorrow will be a disaster unless I can get them working. Right now they are deadwood.

Kind of rebaseing after 3 weeks of barely riding because of weather and life. Legs sucked yesterday, quick 13 mile hill repeat attack. Today I felt much better, tomorrow, try and hold onto the nyack ride longer then I did last weak. Wash, rinse, repeat.

90 minutes of SST today. Felt, meh. Numbers were a little low, I was slacking.

In other news, we need to close this thread and start a new one. It's too big for the servers, and is getting ridiculously slow.

Leg openers for tomorrow's race. It's a race I want to do well in, but legs weren't really there today. I figure I'll suck it up during the race. It's a crit, so I can hide every now and then. I just need to have enough in me for the last 5 mins. I might try something different than a field sprint this time, it's been getting old.

+1

WR or some other statesman please open it up. I don't feel worthy.

Had my first good ride since arriving in Nashville today. Some of my fatigue has worn off; my legs felt (relatively) fresh, instead of full of lactic acid, like they have all week. I rode right after the rain stopped falling, which helped. I'm wilting in the heat and humidity down here, so it was nice to get a bit damp and cool. Still sweated like nobody's business, though. A good hour plus over mostly rolling terrain with a couple gradual hills, pace somewhere between Z2 and Z3 most of the time. I'm trying to keep things under control for the time being; I need time on the bike a lot more than I need intensity, though I had a good sprint home later in the evening.

The crit series I'll be racing over the next few weeks is helping my motivation, and today's ride helped my confidence. I'm still very, very weak, and that will continue to hurt me over the next month and a half, but I expect to get stronger as the racing goes on. I have learned a lot about my abilities this year, so I'm getting hungry for next season, when I should have some fitness to go with the speed, I hope.

4.5 hrs on the mtb this morning. Had to leave at 7 because it's freakin hot here right now, but cools down quite a bit at night. Missed the whole tour stage! bah.

No knee pain! But I broke my chain at the top of the last hill, didn't have my normal tool kit with me, and had to scoot my bike the mile or so home

****.

I guess that the good Doctor is OK with starting a new thread because he has already posted in it.

Is there anyway to keep this thread easy to find when the new one takes over? "Sticky" is too aggressive that way. On the other hand if it is locked it can't be bumped every month or so. There is a lot of good stuff in it and it would be a shame if it dies completely.

Please use the new training status thread as this one is getting huge and laggy.

Thanks everyone and keep on training and posting on about it!
