Going to go for it

Call me crazy but I'm going to give racing a try. In July the Georgia State Games will be hosting a road race, time trial and criterium the weekend of July 12 and 13. To read more about the event follow this link: https://www.georgiagames.org/cyrdrac.htm

I know I'll probably get dropped from the start on the Road Race but what the heck What doesn't kill me will only make me stronger, right.

Zack

Best of luck to you. And, actually, you may have a better chance of sitting in during the RR than the Crit. Long straight roads favor the guys hiding in the pack. Crits tend to move the weaker riders closer to the back with every corner until, suddenly, POP, you're off the back and done for.

And again: GOOD LUCK! Have fun. Keep it all in perspective as a new experience and it will be a good time.

Don't talk yourself out of a good effort. You'll be surprised. I know I was! GOOD LUCK!

I just got dropped from my second crit - the first one I stayed with the pack. It was worth it though because it's the best training. I also learned exactly where my weaknesses are. Every race has someone who gets dropped here or there. But the important thing is you get out there and start learning.
