It's maybe 1/4 mile off Mulholland. And it's not about trouble, it's about tradition. On a busy weekend day with tons of cyclists running around the Santa Monicas, I never see a cyclist stopped at Rock Store Tavern. That's all.

My P3 was looking pretty shabby at the end of the season, especially after getting dropped off the back of the car at 70 mph. (Seriously!)

So, I stripped it, sent the frame off to get powdercoated, and reassembled it with a mishmash of new and old parts from my bin. Bars are ancient 3Ts with about 3/4" worth of my crashed Vision bars welded onto the ends so I can use the Vision brakes. Aerobar pads are pipe insulation. Cranks are black powdercoated 170mm DAs; I'm trying out the shorter crank thing.

Yeah, it's a 55. I have long legs for my height; any shorter on the TT bike's top tube and I'm whacking my elbows with my knees. I like the base bars down and forward also; feels more like a road bike drops position. I wish they made more like that; those 3Ts are ancient and you can't adjust the aerobar angle independently of the base bar angle.

I took it out for a short 25 miler this morning and it feels good. 10 mile practice TT this Saturday so we'll see how it goes.

Funny you say that. HD stores support a lot. My shop (HD dealer) is sponsoring a giant stage race this yr. There are two teams right off the top of my head that the main sponsor on their kit is Harley. Battley Harley-Davidson out of Cali is a great team with tons of 1-2 riders. There is another team out of New Mexico that is sponsored by a local dealer as well.

Maybe you are just being sarcastic and I missed it. My bad if that is the case.

Didn't you make some "custom" bar extensions also? Where'd you get the tubing? I know I could order some online but if there's a common size of toilet drain pipe or something like that, I'll use it..I'm not proud.

I've also had good luck with an old foam camping pad (long since replaced with a set of Thermarests).

I don't cut it though. Makes for a nice nap spot during a TT. Is there an aero penalty for that?

How do you like the easton aero?

I was thinking of getting that, but the 3t funda team was what I opted for.

i don't know whether the 'aero' part makes a bit of difference but it is solid and responsive at speed and light as hell.
