Any USACF mass-start counts, as far as I know.

It actually depends on the upgrade rep. Apparently the D20 upgrade person wants to see something other than training races on the list. Around here, 10 training races isn't enough to cat up.

Depends on your area. If memory servers, the Early Bird Training series in Northern California does serve as upgrade points.

They do count, but only to a point. I have one teammate who's still a 5 because all he did was Greenbelt races. Just mix it up with a few bigger races and you'll be set.

I hope they count the qs and tz series because i want to use them and the turkey day race from last season to help me get moved up right as soon as i can. By the time these two series are over if eveything goes right I will have 7-8 races under my belt already. I will have at least two legit races by then (turkey day from last season and the UMD race)

Yep. They're mass start USCF sanctioned races. Usually only from 5-4 though. 4-3 can be dicey, depending on the upgrade rep, as some of them have absolutely no experience with collegiate races and don't know what kinds of riders are in each field. A teammate caught some flak from an upgrade coordinator with his 5-4 upgrade last spring, but some of the other, older guys on our team sent him an email to smooth things out.

Pete,

Your teammate that is still a cat 5, were his results in the greenbelt races good?

Yeah, I don't think he ever won, but he definitely mixed it up in the leadout/finishing sprints. I'm sure he got dropped once or twice when he started out, but otherwise he was pretty consistent.
