rent a TT bike?
Got a TT coming up - first one ever so im excited. Dont have a specific tt bike and was wondering if anyone rents or has rented a bike for a race? I dont see myself doing these often but would love to try the race on aero hardware.
or should i just slap on some time trial bars and take the road bike?

Just slap on the aerobars and race like that. I'd recommend riding a TT bike a bit before you actually race one. The handling and feel is totally different, as is the position (acuteness of the hip angle). I've never heard of renting a TT bike; but perhaps you could borrow one from a fellow club member?

yea, they take a couple rides to get used to, and even more to develop power in that position. You can't just hop on and go faster...

+1. You'll be faster on your own road bike with clip ons, practicing fora month , than a borrowed TT bike you'reriding for the first or second time.

If you throw aerobars on, make sure you get a shorter stem to compensate for your weight shift.
