Might want to cross post this in the Northeast regional forum as well. That region of PA is well represented on BF.

I am not racing it but some of my teamates are. I hear it's usually very windy and cold.

i Raced it last year but cant this year i'm backpacking... my coach runs the race. It's really really cold and windy fun sprint at the end though. Its a downhill with an s curve into the finish line. uphill start one semi big climb with a big descent. but you should have fun good luck!

Any links to the race ?
I just moved from that area, would be interested in seeing the route.
There can be miles of flats or brutal hills depending on the course.
Lots of great bike shops in the area if you want to spend some time there.

Here's an old thread bump. I'm looking at riding this come spring.

Another post said this was too short for Cat 4 upgrade points, but the site says it was 28 miles for cat 4 only - which is 3 miles longer than the 25 mile min for Cat 4 points. (39 miles for Cat 3/4 - I'd probably race that anyway as driving to Lancaster from DC for a 1 hr race isn't as valuable as a ~2 hr of racing time, warm up, etc.. ) Am I missing something?

I enjoyed this race. Fun little twists and turns, ups and downs. It's early season, so not much else going on at that time.

Not sure if I'll do it in '08, though. After racing nearly all of major league's road events last year, I'm somewhat disenchanted with the promoter and how they handle the women's races. Too bad, because I love those Lancaster courses.

Major League Cycling and Red Rose Races Split this past season, I hear they are coming together again for 08. From what I am told the races were better in previous years and the 07 season wasn't as good. Since it was my first season I can't comment personally, but I am told that the races should be better this coming season. I know Makor League did not offer many higher cat races which pissed a lot of people off. Not sure how this will affect your woman's races but is possibly something for you to look into.

Yuppers, on the Cat 4/5 roster. Got 6 guys headed up from the District. Let's hope for better Saturday weather than today. I was getting blown all over the road.

Forcast has been calling for rain in Strasbug all week so today I rode in the rain and strong wind in prep for the race, man I had a blast, just checked now it's calling for clouds and 50' light winds.
I'll be there..

I'm racing in it again this year the Junior race 17-18 . As for the promoter it has changed. Rich Ruoff has bought all of the races that were ran last year by Major League cycling. Dave Butterworth was my coach and sold the races to Rich and red rose races. Apperantly my team red rose rockets got sold with the races? no one really knows whats going on with our team but i'll be there racing.
