Branchbrook Park March 10
Today was the second weekend in the Branchbrook park series of races. If you want to see it (still don't know why...how well can anyone write on two hours of sleep???) go ahead and click here. You will find the report, some pictures of the WKO file, a picture of the breakaway last week, and the weak WKO file from the race. Lots of "mini-attacks" and a whole lot colder. Still, a fun time was had. Sorry to blather on. I don't have the storng ability to be quite as succinct as Botto.

If you need me tomorrow I'll be in Central Park, in the dark, possibly on the rain soaked course, getting my head handed to me by faster cyclists (which would encompass at least 60-70% of the vets peloton). That's if I don't crash on that dicey right hand bend descent up in Harlem.
I seriously need my friggin head examined for doing this sport. If nothing else, I am pushing the human frontiers of pointless exertion and risk taking. At least it's all over (one way or another) before 9AM.
I prepared for my 2nd race in 9 years tomorrow by riding 30 miles down to NJ, hammering hard for an hour and contesting the uphill sprint on the local weeniefest, then riding 30 miles back, including the hardest climb (Gate Hill Road) in the immediate area. So the 76 mile lactic acid injection therapy has been administered. I think Joe Friel would smack me upside the head for that, eh Dr.?

A fun race, and a hell of an enjoyable breakaway to ride in. Still can't get the taste of road salt out of my mouth though...
Keep racing, keep winning, and keep coming here to tell us about it. You get the Weenie of the Week award (Super Weenie Division).

Just no one-two on me!

Arrgh! Grant's Tomb Crit is this weekend, so I'll have to skip Branchbrook. But I'll make it out there for the next one.
