I wish they had a Velodrome near me, seems like something that would be fun to try.

Can't suffer much more than after a long climb with an uphill finish.

Let's just say that my Points Race skills are in the early development phase - my strong suit is endurance events.

Esammuli you don't actually ride with Ranchos on the weekend group rides do you?
You must be like 10 times faster than those guys!

I know because I like to ride with them (sat. morning N. county Fair) once in a blue moon when im home from school and free on a weekend.

Does Ranchos have a secret "racing squad" of guys like you that I don't even know about?

It's 3 long laps and the wind was pretty light compared to normal. My time was 26:25@ 28.2 mph.

This is the first year that they've had an elite squad. There are 5 of us in the 1/2's plus a few 3's. Most of the guys don't live near Escondido, so they don't come out to the Saturday ride to often. I live nearby and I try to make occasional appearances. There are a few guys who are actually pretty quick on the Saturday ride, but usually it's a pretty wide range of abilities.

I was watching this race. Team-mate Grygus finished 4th I think. When did you get your gap on them?

Congrats BTW.

in the foreground, at the finish line of the bear mountain classic. cramping badly, missed the late break, and the finish line snuck up on me. made up lots of places and room fast but couldn't get around four guys shoulder to shoulder (so it seemed) in front of me at the line and only got ninth. felt like the course hurt me more than it should have. more than battenkill did.

How about this? This is a picture of the second group trying to chase our three man break down last weekend. It's good to see others suffer because of you.

It was just a organized ride, however. Not a race. Though we pinned numbers and had a KOM climb.
