Was this race before or after the crash that caused the initial damage to your bars?
Considering your other post in the 41 I shuddered re-reading this post this morning. I'm glad you made it through this race & the pothole without serious injury. I'll be much more diligent when inspecting my rig after a crash in the future.

This is my suffer face. And my just riding around face. And every other face.
I'm in an 8 man break at the BMW center crit, Master 35+. Got 7th because my top end stinks right now and I let a gap open up before the sprint.
That's Judge Charlie Brown behind me (Carolina Masters). One of the fastest - if not THE fastest - guys in the Carolinas that is not Pro. He got 2nd at this race. Lined up for the Masters 45+ and won it.

Knee warmers actually. I debated full leg warmers but opted out. It warmed up nicely by the end of the race and a was soppy wet.

Here's my pics from the weekend that a girlfriend of a teammate took. Pretty decent shots I thought.
Mouth open, arms stiff, head cocked... yep, I'm hurting.
There's also this compromising photo, I'm the one in the red on the left. We're fixing a front brake position.

flatballer -- did you lose weight, and are you SURE your bike fits you?
edit: also "in the red on the left" is ambiguous

The one on the very left, with my back turned.
I didn't lose weight, I gained it. About 10-15 lbs of it. I'm not 100% the bike fits, but it feels good. I can go for 4 hours without a problem (other than a not-so-comfortable saddle).

Well, I had already given up at this point. I was waiting for the pack to catch me and hop back in. I was just still hurting from the attempt to latch back on, but after I was down 3/4 of a lap I gave it up.

Here's my full-suffer face. I look like I'm smiling but I promise you it ain't no smile:
Dilworth Crit 2009, Masters 35+
I cracked hard and barely finished in the pack.
That day my car stalled in the middle of the highway (fuel pump), I had to set up and continue to work the event, and was just stressed out. Hopefully this year will be different.

Making a kilometer blurry
Yeah, I'm getting a little sick of the Euro naming of the American races. Especially all the "Roubaix" races we have over here that visit a dirt road or two. Ugh.

there is a "tour de"
and a "giro di"
along with a grand prix, and the aforementioned ronde
but there are also like 50 races, so I'd call that pretty good restraint.

Ronde Van Brisbeen use to be held the same weekend as the Ronde Van Vlaanderen every year. I agree that the Giro di San Fran could just as easily be called the down town san fran crit, especially since american crits don't really resemble euro crits(so I've heard)

On the yellow bike. This was from the cluster-f Simple Green crit. 130 or so CAT5s on the course at once. Interesting to say the least.

BTW I have the same goals as you do in your sig, but I am a cat4. What is your age/height if you don't mind me asking???? I'm 23, 145lbs and 5'9.5". With the current state of affairs, I would rather have a girlfriend than a spooky skeletor, but not by much .

Yeah I got my PHR in 2008. I took the SPHR a few times and just haven't devoted enough self study time to the exam. It's not an easy test and I'm not the best at self study. This summer I plan to rock it though. After that I'll get my CA cert (should be easy) then go for the GPHR.
