Finishing my first ever race. Boulevard Cat 5 in SoCal about a month ago. My goals were not to crash and hopefully not get dropped. Finished 19th. Not great but I was happy with it

Nice pic! That's a teammate of mine just behind you. Those of you out-of-state: don't be fooled by winter weather in this pic. This is the best the weather has been in many years for this race. Last year it snowed.

True. I drastically over dressed for this race. I was born in the tropics so I'd rather be hot than cold. The weather was PERFECT. It was high 50s - low 60's in early February, clear and sunny. Couldn't ask for more. The very next weekend it was in the 20's and snowing. We lucked out!

jb: i was 145 lbs at the time. i'm currently just north of 160. the difference is scary. my neck while still thick in that picture looks huge now, and i've almost lost my 6-pack...
