I'm on the front in the colorful blue/green kit. Everyone behind me appears to be in the pain cave (suffering) and this makes me happy. Ivor took the picture... does anyone else think the "credit the photographer or your post will be deleted" thing is silly? Nobody knows who Ivor is, he's not a pro, it's just a picture. Ansel Adams was not at my cat 4 crit.

What the heck, one more Battenkill photo. Me on the right, my buddy Jim in the stem-staring zone on the left. Top of Juniper Swamp, field exploding behind.

Way to devalue his time, skill and passion man. Maybe for some perspective, tell your sponsors that you're not going to put their logo on your kit but you'll take their cash and see how they like that deal. A little gratitude goes a long way.

Although it doesn't look like I'm suffering all that much-- and I'm not, really-- this was my first ever crit and I'm kinda excited to have something to post in this thread! Also, I did suffer later in the 4/5 race, so I'm not totally dodging the issue. I plan to go out harder for my third race tomorrow, so hopefully the photog, Markus Nee (mcniadh on Flickr) will again capture me, but with more visible strain!

That's me in the hi-vis.

6' and 54cm ST/570 TT.

It's definitely a short ST for my height (though I'm not max'ing a 350mm post), but the rest of the fit and handling are characteristics are very good to excellent for me.

I love the overall handling of the geometry and the ride characteristics, though when I'm up, jamming out of the saddle, the front end needs to be controlled, but I've long adapted to it, and prefer it to a lazier alternative. I actually think it helped train me to keep my head down and weight centered in the sprint. That's my spin on it, anyway!

In a custom built world, I'd probably stretch the F-C another 5mm, and the HT and ST by 5mm to match, but that config wasn't available in the stock frame next size up, and I knew I wanted this frame, so compromises were made...unregrettably!

Interestingly, the other bike that was a top contender before I chose the Breezer is right alongside me in the pic, the new Ritchey Logic frame set. Ultimately, I preferred the tight geo of the Breezer because I really wanted this bike to be stiff and responsive, which it is.

won my first race on Saturday (Chantilly Circuit Race - Cat4s). Super stoked. I'm in the all-black kit on the far left. I positioned myself near the front for a teammate for a partial lead out on the final lap, but he lost track of the laps; i benefited from the positioning since another one was keeping the pace higher and i didn't want his work to go to waste.

I took the picture. One of the 15.

gstein is winning. The break that was away for many, many, many laps got caught by his team just before the line. The guy in red/black to the way left, by the yellow line, is one of the break riders, the guy in pink/black to his left is another. The third guy in the break blew before the line, he rolled across after the field.

Ann Arbor spring training series? How's the course this year? So many potholes on their old course.

^^ nice one

None of the pro photos are out yet, but my wife got this one from me starting the first of many breaks in the p12 race. My first p12, and 3rd crit ever! Look at that office park scenery and deep-section wheels.

I think I'm finally relatively happy with my position on the road bike. 2 years and a hundred tweaks removed from a retul fit and I sort of look like I belong on the bike.

Oh snap. I was confused how remarking on position in a race pic was 41 material, but I get it now and that's actually pretty perfect for how I felt in a p12 crit.

41, funny

You almost never post side shots. You don't look tall in the head on shots but the side shot, wow.

Pavement is awesome compared to the old course. I don't like the hill on this course. I just don't like hills.

now combine that size with a 12w/kg "jump" and imagine how well I have to time it to get any separation!

ahh, suffering. Alex Chiu.

I regret forgetting shoe covers and riding a 60 front instead of a 90 for sure. Needed like .2 more mph over the duration.
