Getting caught from a failed break at our "Koppenberg." I'm the fool smiling in the green.

Obviously much thanks to John Flora Photography. I'm contemplating coughing up the 10.00 for a 1 megapixal print just b/c I'm smiling on a 17% dirt pitch.
Maybe if I can win a prime or two this weekend. Common primes, daddy needs some new socks and a picture.

That picture is well worth it. Nice job getting up that hill in any place.

I think this is just after bridging to a ~15 bike split that I thought was the race... comes out it was not. So it goes, but at least John Clark was there to take a nice picture.

Tried to bridge a 25" gap with 5 to go. When I was 10 meters away 2 breakmates looked back and picked up the effort. I was stuck in no man's land the rest of the way, but held on for 3rd. (photo credit to teammate Jeff)

Great suffering there. Cool, and congrats for hanging on to the gap.
Next time, get aero. Drops or flat in the hoods. Elbows in, keep them supple, chin and shoulders lower. Relaxed above the hips, power flowing through the core to the legs. Practice VO2Max intervals in this position (don't fall into the habit of doing all VO2 stuff as hill repeats). Same with AWC (1'-2' intervals) -- work this aero bridging position out when you're under stress.

interesting. goes to show it is all so personal. guessing maybe you have broad shoulders that negate the advantage of being narrow. smart of you to have actually tested what is faster--bet that has contributed to some of your breakaway wins.

IAB is great for bridging. Especially when trying to hold off the pack - I never see the guy on the front of a pack in IAB!

I do it all the time when I'm reeling back a break. Practice.

Looking through some old photos and found this.
Pulling the field around at San Dimas to keep things under control for our GC leader. The guy on my wheel is Rich Meeker.

A couple from today's uphill time trial, credit to the guy with the watermark on the photos. These pictures show exactly why I hate Capo, they don't make a smaller size jersey and I still have zipperdick.

Bro, do you even suffer?
This was the crest of the hill which marked the beginning of my 20-minute chase to latch on to the front-half selection.

Nice! Did you do the Friday twilight race? I had considered jumping into it as I was close to the area, but timing didn't work out. I couldn't tell from the description if it was a car race track or just a course with banked turns.
