Hammond's ride at G-W.....absolutely brilliant.

T-Mobile rode the perfect race, even taking the fastest dude in the world to the finish.

Roger now has podium finishes in two classics, including 1 pillar. Very nice.

I still would have bet on Freire down to the last 500 meters in that race. Excellent riding by T-Mobile. Very credible win.

Shame there's no paddocks to cross with the bike on yer shoulder...he would've won more classics than Museeuw.

I predict that Discovery will fit their bikes with steerers made of rebar.

Well, lesseee...I'm always wrong with these predicks, so ...who do I want to curse?

Cancellara
Ballan
Hoste

My 'secret picks' will be released in a future post. Odds are excellent I will go 3 for 3 with those. If the 3 above finish in that order...then..ummm...you can guess who my secret picks were, can't you...heheheheh....

Very close but...
I think O Grady will surprise everyone. He's due. And Boonen will get caught out by some good team tactics and find himself off the podium.

OK, for real:

Hoste (you swallow enough bitter pills and you eventually learn)
Ballan
Cancellara

All of whom will be lost in the discussions about:

Boonen

I will refrain from my typical boonen comment and say that I would like to vote for Hoste. I would
really like to see him win PR. Hoste is a tough man and has come in second in a lot of stuff - I hope
he kicks some serious @$$. Although I might root for Cancellara also. It's nice to see TT type people do well in some of these things that people think sprinters will often win.

Did you see the Gerolsteiner bike that broke at Flanders? Looked like the same as George's last year, steerer snapped off at the bottom of the stem, fork fell out of the frame... result of the crash, not the cause of it, but interesting.

Gusev

Ballan (the last non-Belgian to win both the Ronde and Paris-Roubaix was in 1923)

Nuyens (dark horse)

...does the fact that I have no idea, yet make foolish guesses, make me a fantasy-pool-Fred?

I was totally off on the GW..but I don't think Boonen seems to have it recently, and winning two in a row for Cancellara is a longshot.
I'm liking Ballan, but that race is really impossible to predict.

Looks sunny and warm for sunday.

Seems they've been doing the Flying Wallendas routine every week. They may just run out of bikes before the Tour...not that it matters.

No. According to the Paris-Roubaix website, he's riding in it. It might be a bit of a stretch, but not a joke.
