Jesus, why do you hate bike racers?
Family's in town, it snowed this morning, places to go, people to see... training this weekend is looking like a total bust.

We are having a nice little cold snap down here in NC this weekend. I am hoping that this is the last of it...and that cycling heaven is just ahead. I'm going to see how it warms up today. I may go for a run instead of getting out on the bike. I plan to really step up my mileage next week, as I have my first races starting to sneak up on me.

Look Dr Pete wussy boy, it's in the high 30's here and pissing rain...I'll be on the trainer soon..I suggest you do the same and quit yer whining.

See, when I know a weekend is a potential bust and I'll be trapped at home, here's what I do:
1) Morning of family visit, stash bike, trainer, and set of bibs in a shower.
2) Close shower curtain.
3) Family arrives; chat for a bit.
4) Excuse myself to use the restroom
5) Hop on bike, crank out a 2x5min interval with a 1-2min rest.
6) Put bike and trainer back in shower, keep bibs on under clothes.
7) Shock in-laws by coming out of restroom sweating profusely and short of breath.
8a) Family is concerned about my health and well-being and tell me to get some rest. Time for more intervals.
8b) Convince family that I am suffering from some sort of GI problem and use that as an excuse to visit the bathroom more times during the day.

Everybody riding today here in Miami had tights and arm warmers on. It was a bit over 60 degrees.

Making a kilometer blurry
Heading out at sunrise tomorrow for a solo 80 miles (longest ride in 12 years). Should be 36 and wet. I guess that will make it a religious experience.
