Rotating brake pads
I wanted to ask this in the Road forum but didn't feel like filtering out the crap responses. I use my front brake more than my rear, and a significant difference in pad thickness has developed (naturally). Any harm in putting the thicker, less used pads on the front and rotating the front pads to the rear?
|
why not just replace the front ones and leave the back ones alone? this way the front (important) brakes get a new set of pads, and the rears can just wear at whatever rate they want to.

don't have the $$. Seriously.

ok, you just got married. YOU give him some advice then...oh I guess you just did. From a woman's perspective, make sure you buy her a diamond that is as big as what her friends have. |
When I went shopping for engagement rings with my wife, we went to the first jeweler and she tried on a 2.2 carat solitaire.
Her response? "Oh my God, that's way too big. I want something a lot smaller than that." It was the happiest day of my life. :D |

Otherwise, how does one get so many income investments at such a young age? Really, tell me? :) |

Oops... sorry, I meant: Someone who talks about getting earnings from their investments can't afford a $10 brake pad. Hell I'm pretty much dirt poor compared to most people here and I could afford $50 for a pair of swissstops cause I go through a set of pads what, once a year? If you're that desperate, i have some pads lying around I can send you. You can also open up the calipers a little and put mtb style v-pads on it. I did that with a giant ocr2, the mtb pad ended up being almost 50% larger and had HUGE stopping power. |
It was a question not a statement.
Still your situation makes no sense. You have sufficient money invested such that the returns are so substantial that you have to pay taxes -while attending university- and you can’t afford a brake pad? If your lemonade stand made a killing, just tell us… how. |
