Voler team clothing: Sizing?

I'm going to be joining up with a team that wears Voler clothing this summer. I probably won't be able to try it on before I order it, though, and that leaves me in a bind.

Being a rather small of stature, I'm wondering whether I should get my bibs in a Small or Extra Small. I currently own size Small clothing in Sugoi, Verge and Nalini, and think I could use a little smaller of a bib short or skin suit. And, if it comes down to it, I wouldn't be against ordering women's bibs if they were smaller and the men's size XS don't get ordered by the team.

So, if any of the ladies, kids, or rather small gentlemen on the board have any experience with Voler team kits, in the small end of the range, please let me know how they fit and compare to other brands.

Thanks.

Not sure what counts as small. I'm 5'8" / 142. I find the small Voler bibs to be about the right size, though not as small as I would have thought. I could probably fit into XS bibs and be fine too. Oddly enough, while the bibs fit fine (and possibly a tad large), the jerseys don't fit me too well. Probably more to do with our team ordering the club cut, and not the raglan cut. That and I have a little bit of muscle left from my bodybuilding days.

If you have any other specific questions, you can PM me. I had to be a bit incoherent as I just got off class and need to hop on the trainer before it gets too late.

Women's stuff runs big compared to the size chart, especially in the hips (I ordered Medium). Too wide for me, which makes for not so fun things with the chamois. I'm thinking of trying men's small bibs next season (I'd guess XS would be too short in straps-I'm 5'7"). I wear men's small race cut jersey pretty well if that helps you put my comments in perspective. A little baggy, but fits well in shoudlers and length. I'm not sure women's small shorts would help you much. Plus, the inseam is shorter. Insert is the same.

We have some women on our team as well, and I think that the padding is different in the women's bibs.

voler runs the same as everyone else, except assos. if you don't wear assos, order the same size that you like in your current bibs

I am 5'10 167lbs with a 31inch waist, I wear medium bibs and they fit me perfect. I'd say their sizing is dead on.

XS bib shorts might fit the bill. I'm 5'7" but have a 28" waist. Or at least that's the pant size I wear. I like my shorts a little on the short side compared to most so that should be fine. I hope they have skin suits at the shop, because it sounds like I'll need to get a size small skinsuit to accomodate my torso, but I want to try them out first.

Another question: anyone wear a long sleeve skinsuit in the summer for crit racing? If so, how'd you like it?

i'm 5'9, 150 and voler small bibs were a little tight over my shoulders, but yeah, as everybody else said, go with what you'd wear in other brands.

and i've used a LS skinsuit for summer crits....not sure what you mean by 'how'd you like it' but for me it just seemed like overkill rockin' the skinsuit in cat 4 crits, and it was no more or less comfy than a jersey and bibs. -my biggest issue was that i had two team kits and only one skinsuit....i saved the skinsuit for TTs and cyclocross for fear of wrecking in a crit and ripping it up.

Nah, the women's insert is the same as men's. At least for the most expensive pad--I'm blanking on the name. The only difference is roomier in the hips (sizing seems off by 1 size overall), slightly shorter inseam, and higher rise on shorts (they come up as high as the bibs).

So, my own question: if women's medium (weight and height on the chart is similar to men's small) is too big for me, should I try a men's small or XS or just go down to women's small (same height issue as men's XS)?? I'm 5'7", can wear 26-28" waist, 130-135#. I dig the long inseam, so that's not a problem. Thanks!

The only Voler clothing I have is a pair of Proforma knickers in size Men's Sm. I would probably order an XS next time. I'm 5'7" & 120lbs.
