The under 25 race should be HOT...
Here is a short list:
Bettini
Simoni
Cunego
Savoldelli
Garzelli
Popovych
Di Luca
Rebellin
McEwen
Haedo
Petacchi
A very short list as well....there are many more to watch....McEwen will try to really hit it hard....we get to see Haedo in his first big tour....CSC in the sprints...wooohooo you get to find out what Mayo is going to do.....if he does well he "might" not help Simoni so much....
There is lots of racing to watch...good racing as well....

please, cunego and simoni have been lack luster to say the least in the last two giro's. Sure, Cunego has been ill prior, but its not the same in feel. I guess I'm still getting over the fact that Lion King is no longer around. The giro has always been my fav, but Im not feeling it this year.

The other day, a coworker and I were joking that we were going to sign up for the Grand Tours since OP seems on the verge of busting a lot of people...I love my job...arriving in the morning to hear a coworker say "oh, I feel really awful today" and thinking they have been through some tragic event....only to find out they read the news about Basso...lol.

I have wondered for awhile if Mayo is clean. He obviously has talent, but he is on one day then off the next.

You would have thought they'd have tested Vinokourov for LSD after the way he attacked his own team mates @ the Tour de France a couple of years ago. That's when I knew he was my favorite non-American bike racer. The dude is just whacked.

And the way his teammate attacked him. He is exciting. How about a GC contender winning the final "sprinters" stage. Yowsa

Simoni's finished no worse than third in 7 of the last 8 Giro's.
In '05 Cunego finished 18th and rode a three week race with mononucleosis. He was still a half an hour faster than Basso, who also was sick.
Those are pretty lackluster results.
I love it when the casual bike fans come out in the summer....shaking my head....

Don't watch. You wouldn't know what you were looking at anyway.

I just wish Simoni would be a little more quiet in defeat. Even if he was beaten unfairly it just comes off weak crying about it.
maybe its just the medias fault.

I don't care if Simoni was top 5, he is still lacking what he had. He is not the power house in the hills anymore - in terms of sticking with the big guns. He got canned on a whole bunch of stages in last two years - yeah, he blames it on the team - got a love it.

I'm rooting for, as always, Cunego. I expect this to be an exciting race, as the Giro usually is. God I love this sport, even with all of its doping problems.
