Mt. Sunapee Road Race

Alright....any New Englanders out there doing this one? Looks like the weather is going to really suck - temps probably in the high 40's/low 50's and rain. I stupidly signed up for it the other day without checking the weather forecast first; I listened to my buddy who said "oh yeah....this weekend is gonna be nice!"

Now...80 degrees and rain, I don't mind....50 degrees and rain.....we'll have to see how it is at the start, particularly since I don't own any cycling rain gear .

I am also riding Sunapee. How do you gear up for a race in a rainy day anyway? Also I wear prescription glasses ... won't make it any better.

I never wear rain gear. Just layer the porous stuff appropriately. I prefer to have my clothes breathable unless it gets down below 20 degrees.

For 40 degrees in the rain, I'd wear two jerseys and arm warmers, plus tights.

I'd freeze my balls off in 2 jerseys and rain.

I was a no show at Sunapee yesterday and did N. Stonington today instead.

How were the conditions at Sunapee and how did the race go ?

I wasn't in the mood to ride at race pace for 50 miles in 46 degrees and rain.

Now...80 degrees and rain....that would be a different story.
