Race Report-Whitewater RR

I raced today.
The pack let a guy get away right out of the start, then they sent out a new kid from the sharks (local juniors team) to bridge. We ended up doing two laps of a 6 mile long course with and avg. speed of under 16 mph. With the sharks not doing any work, and IS corp (local junior team) not doing much either we just cruised for about 2 1/2 laps. We would turn it up to 25-30 mph leading into the hill right before the finish, and we would be all strung out through the finish area, but as soon as we got around the turn everybody slowed down and we went back to 15 mph. I had a good sprint/climb thing at the finish but people were just stopping halfway up the hill, and there was some guy who was warming up, and was in the middle of the street as everybody was sprinting, so I had to grab my brakes and swerve twice to avoid these guys, and It cost me a few places.

The race was frusterating because I couldn't get in position to try a breakaway, and nobody was doing any work, so everybody was real strong, and quick to get on any moves and shut them down. So I couldnt make any moves, but the only real racing was in the last three miles. Normally I would be happy with a pack finish, but I didnt work at all today so Im not exactly thrilled with my results.
