Or is that weenie? I've decided to bite the bullet and head to Fort Worth TBi training series race next Wednesday (can't make it tonight). Unless my friend's car breaks down or I hurt myself hauling hay, that is. Only posting this here to help commit myself. I plan to be pwned, but want to see how bad my fitness really is.

I live in Burleson and, having never raced myself, am interested in what that crit is like. Please post details after your race.

My preliminary report: I was dropped

I will post a full report next Wed. I raced a bit in grad school, and could manage a few top 10 finishes in collegiate C's and a top 10 or 2 in 5's, but it's been a number of years. My very first crit in '98 had a nasty hill; on which I got dropped. Badly. I am hoping to hang with the pack for at least half the race the first time out in my highly anticipated comeback.

Incidentally, my wife laughed when I said I wanted to race again. She once helped me shave my legs in a hotel room before a race. Also gave great massages after a few other events. Great woman. She will laugh more next week.
