Look, believe what you want. Your favorite rider is clean. The guy who beat your favorite rider is doping. One bad/one good. The horse has been beaten down to sub atomic particles at this point. It is what it is, the process will grind out to some eventual conclusion, right or wrong. IMHO the testers are no better ethically at this point than the cheats (or tell me why "A" samples which are supposed to be confidential are announced at press conferences). Can we shut up about the dope and talk about actual racing?

It's bad enough when the top twenty threads on the TdF forum are all about doping. When they start interfering here...

I'll go along with the 'doping ban' in the racing forum. Start a doping forum and make Smoothie the mod.

truthfully, i don't think the problem is that people are discussing doping in the racing forum so much as it is the same 2 to 5 people keep posting every single article they can find about doping in here, in seperate threads. no one really cares about these little updates.

I think you guys need a little perspective. The TdF just finished with a record number of riders being flagged and caught. Many of us are burned out this racing season or are putting off racing again until next year when we can get in better conditioning.

This will die down, but is kind of what people want to discuss. If not, there would not be so many responses.

Also - don't read the threads if you do not want to. Other people are free to post other topics, yet, they don't. So without the doping threads, there would be only a few active threads anyways. Are you trying to drive down traffic?

+1 - I agree that it gets old, quick, but it is relevant to racing, right this moment especially. If I thought for a second that it was going to be like this year round, or if the threads were started ONLY by Blaireau, DocRay, Helmet Head, Huvi, and whatever other doping trolls there are here, I'd agree they should be banned, but that hasn't been the case.

Of course.

While "Vinokurtov" has commented in several "doping" threads you'd score higher on your SATs if you realized the thread you pointed out was about changing a monniker/avatar, and not about doping in and of itself I'm not sure what the third and fourth multiple choice option would be on the reading comprehension part of that test, but with answers like that you'll never get into anything other than community college, so you'll miss those lectures by Snicklefritz.

If it WAS about doping there would be the usual good/bad/clean/dirty back and forth. And french bashing. Lots of french bashing. 99% of which would be from jingoistic mono cellular dullards who's closest proximity to France or anything french has been the deep fryer at the fast food joint they frequent.

Not to mention a poor understanding of the origins and history of the concept of "innocent till proven guilty" which, BTW, is quite new historically, and who's application has been strictly limited to criminal matters, in a tiny geographical area.

Besides, I'm not "winding down" MY racing season. I'm in an all out war with GWHBNAH so for the next 30 days I'm kicking ass in a steroid/EPO/blood doped rage. By the end of August I plan on having enough winner's T-shirts to dress the entire sub continent and a police blotter that makes most NFL teams look well behaved as I blow off steam after those 70 mile climbing races by attacking any parked vehicle I see that's not painted in an agreeable color with a baseball bat.

I plan on getting my hematocrit into the TRIPLE digits BTW. "Mr 60%" was a giant wu$$y.

In the end I'm (thusfar) supported by direct democracy, so anyone who disagrees with me is a giant loser and should go jump back on their Huffy, ring the little bell, take a sip out of their cute little water bottle, and ride over to the TDF forum where they can have their important "DID!" "DID NOT!" "DID!" DID NOT!" "DID!" "DID NOT!" "DID!" DID NOT!" discussions and not bump P'Cad's newest TT position thread to the bottom of the page. I suggest they post with these:

I totally agree 100 percent, that is why I am looking forward to Cross season, plus the cross racing forum has nothing , but good advice, lots of information, and none of the doping trolls.

i just feel bad for the poor souls that make 75% of there threads about doping. What will they ever do if the sport manages to clean itself up.

The same ratio will apply, they'll just post less.

And I vote to keep doping polls. If we're going to ban posts/subjects for redundancy, we need to exclude PCad.

Ex-Race,

you can use the scroll bar to get to it. Plus, if nore people were interested in P-Cad's TT position, more people would post, and hence, it would be at the top of the forum. I am not trying to discourage P-Cad from posting his TT position. But I think the popularity of the doping threads during the Tour de France is justified.

No you don't.

My point being, it's oxymoronic to expect an intelligent discussion about "dope". At this point it's Foo, descending in a death spiral towards the black hole of Monty Python's "Argument Clinic".
