USA Cycling Pro Championships
...is in Greenville, SC...which is only a short, 28 mile drive away from me! I'm thinking of volunteering my services to the event (saying i dont have to qualify for anything special) either as a Course Marshal or the guy who gets to escort the cyclists to the medical tent for post-race testing that should be fun.
I'm still unemployed so i figure it wont conflict with my 'schedule' at all. Not sure if I should volunteer or just go watch the race....

Put on some silly ***** costume i.e.- a body condome or some wierd superhero thing, then run along side the riders.... I bet that would be more fun then trying to act like being if front of the pro riders is not the biggest thrill of your life..... and you might just get on tv too.

for anyone who cares, Tasmanian Marcos Ambrose is driving his first Nextel Cup race this weekend @ Watkins Glen in Robby gordon's car.
Tas doesn't just produce gun bike racers and footballers!!

He might just win it too. Nobody knows how to hustle a big tin-top around a road coarse better than that dude. He shoulda won the Busch race last weekend in Montreal. Kinda ironic that he'll be driving Gordon's car at the Glen......
sorry....you may now return to your regular programming.....

If you want to volunteer for the RR, they are still in need of a ton of people. If you want to just watch, then take your bike up Paris Mtn for the climb, and then ride into Greenville for the finishing circuits. Either downtown at the finish or Cleveland Park are the best places to watch the circuits from.
