NYC Race info
Hey guys I would like to start racing and am looking for where I can find info of the races in NYC. I am on long island but I figure NYC is going to be the most popular.
Anyway where do you find the info for where the races are going to be?
How competitive are the races? ( I understand it IS a race but I assume NYC has a much bigger crowd then a little town in Iowa.)

For general NYC racing info and stupidity head over to:

I've been out of the loop for a few weeks now (a little incident with a van coming home from a training ride left me minus the middle of my left clavicle, replaced with a plate and some graft) but the racing is fairly competitive in the parks (Prospect and Central). Towards the end of the season you'll have people that are using the local series to prep for the Bear Mountain fall classic and the Green Mountain Stage Race. The NYC boys tend to be able to hold their own against NE's finest so don't underestimate the strength of the riders. Most of all enjoy, NYC's a horrible place to train but a great place to race.

I might also reommend www.spokepost.com and maybe https://www.crca.net/racesarch/schedule.htm We also keep a fair amount of info on our website (www.westwoodvelo.com) and it is not as crazy at times as NYvelocity. Finally remember that NYC is just across the river from NJ. There is a lot of great racing here as well.
There are some links on that page. Depending on your cat, remember that certain races fill up FAST!
Looking forward to seeing you in the peleton.
