Tour de Christiana Stage Race Report or how I got my butt served to me in a dog dish
I wish I could say that it was dominating, or an inspiring comeback, or even a decent placing, but the fact is, someone stole my watts!! Race reports come for the good and the bad, so here it is.
If you don't want to read a lot of boring crap, the summary is, I did not win. Actually in writing about it I could not even make the writing interesting! Fortunately my teammate who raced the cat 4 put up a better report (found linked within mine).
All of that being said, the Amish are GREAT bike racing fans! It was a ball to have the children waving (and some of us waved back) and cheering us on at all points! The crit (a nasty, extremely NON-flat seven corner adventure) was lined with people under tents shading themselves from the heat (according to my SRM 97 degrees of heat). The TT was technical and had this been a time based event, I think it could have gotten interesting (I would not have soft pedaled after I was dropped in the crit).
Still, in theory I will have gas money and some entry fee paid for by the TT placing and I have th emotivation to work hard in the off season (and for you NYS TTists, I am pissed, so watch out this weekend!!)
Hope everyone enjoyed their racing this weekend. Good luck in Hilltowns!

Wish I could have done this event. Looks like my team mates got a bit of your gas money as they ended up 7th and 11th GC
The top 2 on GC are local MABRAs, 1st being someone I've raced with for a few years now and seem to be in a doomed breakaway almost every race we're in together. I'm happy for him in getting the win, but admit to being surprised he was let to get away, given his utter absence of a finishing sprint. The kid who finished 2nd is a really good racer who's always beating me.

I hates me the Omniums. Give me time over points any day. Much safer too, people aren't going nuts trying to move up from 17th.
Tough watching the race ride off on the last day like that.
