something tells me millar's hints about going to the posties were simply to force cofidis' hand. looks like it worked. i can't imagine him working well at postal anyway.

can't see him working well anywhere except in Millar Millar land, sorry cough cough splatter splatter land..

He does seem overly precious. Would have to take the award for the *****iest antics aired in public pre re-signing by any notable rider this year. I think I'll just nickname him "the tool" for next year.

Superb! I thought I was the only one picking up on his overacting.

One of the things which changed my view on Millar as a future TdF contender is his constant whinging.

Reminds me of the old Nigel Mansell joke. "How can you tell when mansell is driving his F1 car?" "When the engine stops, the whining doesn't"

I thought Stephen Roche's comments were probably quite apposite - to badly paraphrase him Millar has a good engine but needs to get his wiring sorted out.

Millar will stay 2 more years with Cofidis.
He signed the contract yesterday.

millar would have you believe that were he not sick/injured/having mechanicals he would've won the whole tour by 20 minutes. i'm not sure how he and lance got to be such good friends. do you brits not even like millar?

Would have to be one of the only great time triallers in world cycling that can't climb two days in a row or maybe it was his team's fault because they were all racing for themselves.
I think it's entirely appropriate that Millar is the leader of a team full of individuals if that is indeed what Cofidis consists of.

Personally I think he has great talent let down by an awful attitude.

He blames everyone but himself for poor performance, is at times incredibly egotistical. I think he has been out of Scotland too long. He wouldn't get away with that here.

His interviews after the various stages just showed him up to be a prat.

Compare that with Ullrich who even after falling in the TT just effectively said "c'est la vie". Someone with talaent and the right attitude.

Some of the greatest cyclists had huge egos and were quick to blame anyone and anything when things went wrong. Their sense of superiority was an effective weapon.......

but Dave, you ain't no Hinault or Anquetil.

Most Scots would have been proud to have been associated with the admirable behaviour Ullrich showed in adversity. Millar's brattish immaturity is no secret on these forums, or anywhere else- it's an embarassment, when the guy has such class on the bike. Of course he might get a directeur strong enough to help him to improve the weaknesses that everyone can see- but the signs are not good. We will be lamenting his unfulfilled potential when he's 30- after watching as less gifted but mentally tougher riders overtake him on both sides of the road.

The British like to associate with success the same as most people- they just prefer a self-effacing, humble assassin to an egomaniacal one:)
