Ive heard people let leg air grow and just shave when there first race for the next year is coming up.
Ive also heard of people doing it year round what do you guys do?:) -mid atlantic winters by the way

botto 10-27-07 10:27 AM

let it grow.

TheKillerPenguin 10-27-07 10:30 AM

I try and keep my legs smooth. As odd as this probably sounds, its a morale booster.

CrimsonKarter21 10-27-07 10:41 AM

I let mine grow out last year. I usually stop shaving after Thanksgiving.

transplant 10-27-07 10:45 AM

I crash a whole lot more in 'cross races than I do on the road. The road rash isn't as bad, but the reasoning remains the same.

...that and I've been doing it since 2005 (I know, I'm quite the old timer :p ) so it's habitual anymore.

elgalad 10-27-07 04:24 PM

Well, in these parts, there is no off-season. It's road racing and TT season in winter, and criterium season in summer, so I keep them shaved all year 'round.

Hickeydog 10-27-07 05:59 PM

I shave year round. It makes my skiing clothes more comfortable.

mollusk 10-27-07 08:35 PM

I ride all year so I shave all year.

wfrogge 10-28-07 10:29 AM

I believe it's also known as the fire season in SoCal.

substructure 10-28-07 03:37 PM

I'll prolly keep shaving but gain a few pounds instead.

I ride in shorts year round with the occasional knee warmer day unless I'm doing some big mountains. So, I keep'em smoooooth and silky all year long. In fact, I shaved this morning.

EventServices 10-29-07 06:03 AM

The women at the gym love it, so I shave.

kesa101 10-29-07 06:14 AM

i'm another winter bush man. i play football (ah, soccer) in the winter, there's no way i'm going onto that field with shaved legs, it would be suicide.

i do hate the way the hair sticks out of my cycling leggings though, makes me queasy!

Compressed 10-29-07 08:46 AM

I let it grow. It's some good insulation for the winter rides here.

I'll start shaving as soon as I start doing true L4 intervals...

waterrockets 10-29-07 08:57 AM

I don't shave in the winter.
