http://www.racelistings.com/register...yer.asp?ID=649 I'm such a n00000b. |
I'll probably be in the 3's. I may bring Sanocho with me in the 5's, but he'll whine about not riding enough lately. :)
|
I'll be there. This will be my third year at it. It was actually my first race ever two years ago, first and only road race I've won. :o
|
I might go do it. It was very windy last year. Not sure if I want to do 1/2/3 or 3/4 yet
|
Yeah, like the 8" of snow and 17 degree start temp last year?
Man, I hope it's warmer. |

On a side note this is one of the closer races for me to get to. Only have to drive 307 miles round trip for it. :D

If it's "warm" in Maysville, KY, that weekend I'm opening up my season with the Schabobele/Mentor double. 45 and up and I'm racing...in shorts. I'm staying home otherwise.
If not, I'll start with your Ohio series, one or two from the Mid-Ohio/Glen Hill Tour/Aucton Lake trio. My first big race of the year is 88 miles and at the end of March, and as I'm the type of person who NEEDS race miles in order to be in anything resembling decent shape, I have to travel far and wide to get them in this year. |

Looks like there'll be a pretty good Chicagoland contingent – I'm bringing three teammates back to my old home turf. |
I'm probably gonna do Mentor.

Ohio peoples ...
This is a reminder that Western NY is only a short (<4 hour) ride away from Cleveland. We have some EXCELLENT races to put on your calendar. Most notably ... April 04/20/08 GVCC Spring Classic at Bloomfield Bloomfield Rollers with some powerclimbs May 05/10/08 Bristol Road Race Bristol one 5 min climb, one 10 min climb - tough race 05/24/08 05/25/08 Syracuse Race Weekend Syracuse crit is a little sketchy, rr has at least one serious (>10 min) climb June 06/21/08 Jonathon Dechau Memorial Time Trial Rushville long ... ~40K July 07/12/08 07/13/08 Owasco Stage Race Auburn Very well organized, tough TT, very hilly rr, smooth fun crit August 08/08/08 08/10/08 Rochester Omnium Rochester NRC and UCI rated. Crit is open to all. Stay and watch the pros. Downtown. Send me a PM if you'd like to see more of the calendar. There are several other races listed within a short drive of Ohio. There are even a few PA races on my list. -mark |
supposed to be a big money race in downtown columbus march 2nd(think thats the date), crit race with laps around the river across the broad street and town street bridges and thru COSI's parking lot(genoa park), that makes for a pretty fast but brutal course on a typical winter day with two small hills plus the prevaling wind hitting you in the face on civic center drive coming across the river
nate and davey rocket said they're going so that's one cat 2 and one cat 3 so far that I know of, mason is a probable appearance in the cat 5's http://www.fatrabbitracing.com/Event...Challenge.aspx |
i won't be there...business trip. good luck to you, daytonian

The first (non TT) race out of the gate for me will be Mid-Ohio on the 1st of March
|
Darkhorse team camp is the weekend of Schabob & Mentor, so I'll probably start racing with Tim Tyler's Hueston Woods race on 3/15. Either 3s or 1/2/3s depending on how training goes b/w now and then.

Cough, 123, cough.

Yeah, I kinda thought about doing Greeneville since it's pretty close, but my new TT bike and disc still aren't in. We'll see if I feel like driving that day, 40 minutes or 90. Road bike with powertap rear, Stinger 90 front, here I come! |

Where did you hear that and what is the reasoning? You are talking about Tym Tyler's races right?
"RESULTS: The results will be sent to USACycling each week, what they do with them is anyone’s guess, but we will get them there and see what happens." Doesn't sound too confident. I heard (from a guy that's cousins with this dude that knows someone that got a note passed by some other dude that) USA isn't recognizing his races. This was brought up last Fall, but basically the reasoning is he uses little or no corner marshalls, no pacecar officiating, and by that the yellow line rule is not in effect. All the stuff that makes a RR safe, he doesn't apply. His categories are now A-D. Also, I know it's cold in February, but a 20 or 30 mile RR? You could e-mail and get the 411 from him tymtyler@teamcolumbus.org |
