San Dimas Stage race who's in?
Title says it all..I'm doing the 4's race.
|
I'm in. First 35+ race ever.
|
Two teammates of mine in the Pro/1 field.
I, however, am ~2000mi east of San Dimas, for quite some time. |

good luck to anyone who is doing it. i waited too long to register, so i'll be watching the start of the oceanside ironman instead :( |
I've been racing against Thurlow for over 15 years. The guy is really fast. He is slowly starting to show signs of aging, but it will be a really good race. A lot of the masters guys are actually picking his teammate so we'll see how it works out. There are other guys in the field that are plenty fast so I think it will be really fun. With the exception of nationals, I've only done a handful of masters races since I turned 30. Masters races generally seem negative to me so I concentrate on the Pro/1-2 races. My teammates convinced me to do 35+ for SDSR, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm not. Can't justify the time off of work for a hobby. However, I planned my Saturday morning ride to stop by and watch the end of the morning groups and the start of the second groups for the road race stage.
|
the guy is amazing. he was just killing everyone in the two races i saw him in yesterday. one of these days i'll grow a sack and get out there in a 1/2/3/4 race and get my butt handed to me. you know..just to see what it's like...
|
Ill be there in the 5's. Last 5's race whoohoo.
Thurlow was amazing yesterday. 3 man break in the 45 plus and took the win by 5 seconds or so. 2nd race directly after (ie. no rest) was solo off the front with two laps to go and a 40 second lead, and his chain broke. Both breaks from near the beginning of the race, the guys a monster. |

I'm leaving from the TT to go to work, as long as I step foot in my edit bay I get paid ;) You should be arriving just in time on Sat to see me suffering like a dog! |

Oh...and I'm in. Which is lovely because the cold I've been trying to avoid catching for a week has finally settled in and called my body home. :(

Hell yeah I'm in, SDSR was my favorite race last year!
My goal this year is to try and break 16 minutes on the hill climb. It's an ambitious goal, but I don't think its completely outside the realm of possibility. |

Hill is busted up pretty bad right now, after crashing three weeks ago. My guess is that Amgen/Giant will be trying to get Rich Meeker the GC win.

Ferretti. He won Boulevard, goes uphill well, and knows the tt course well (I know it pretty good myself). He won the 2s race here three years ago. Meeker could probably win the rr and the crit, however, I've never seen him tt (uphill or flat) fast. |

Ahh, well as a teacher I get many perks (office hours close at 3:00, 3 months of vacation, collective bargaining, etc.) but there's no such thing as a slow day at the office, and the hours are set in stone. I'll look for you on Sat. You're with LaGrange, right? Which bike?
I ride for PAA not La Grange, I'll be on a white LOOK 595 Friday and Saturday and white Orbea Asphalt on Sunday. We had a shot at the GC but our main guy is out so we are looking for some top 10 finishes. |

We are in slow mode right now at work, next month things will start to pick up as we head into sweeps.

Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to worry about him. Having said that I don't think he'll be that far ahead if at all after day 1. Allen on the other hand I think is going to kill in the TT. RR and crit though not so much.
So who's out for you guys? Your 4's leader? |
