Hi, Mike!

I got to meet BF's very own mikearena just before getting shelled tonight on our local hammer ride. Hi, Mike!

The guy in front of me let a HUGE gap open up as he was blowing up and the pace was ramping up. I should have sprinted around him a lot sooner. After about a mile at 30 mph I hadn't closed the gap. I waved goodbye to the group.

Rode back to town with a UF "C" racer that was also OTB. Nice kid.

Ha! For a second, I thought you meant that gap that I opened up when I pulled off 3 miles into it from a flat tire.

I was talking to Dan L. just a bit ago, and he was saying tonight was a pretty tough one.

Did you ride back with a guy named Joel on an orange Tarmac?

P.S. It was nice to finally meet you too. Good putting faces to names.

When did your flat happen? I must have been ahead of you at the time.

I recall Kerry flatting pretty early on while still on Hawthorne Road.

I'm guessing it must have been Joel because he was riding an orange Tarmac. He thanked me for pulling him back to town.:)

Ha, yeah - I think I flatted before Kerry. 3.2 miles into the ride, pretty early on Hawthorne road, just before the palm tree median stops. I think I reset my computer someplace on 7th Street (you know, in the span of that single block).

I had four flats in one ride on Sunday, and now one today. That's five flats in 48 hours. I give up cycling.

But yeah, that sounds like Joel. Nice guy. I made a bag for him a while back.

Stop right there. Yell. Shame him into closing the gap. Whip him like a rented mule. If he doesn't close the gap, THEN you go around him.

Nah. I have been yelling at myself. I was a real dumb f.

You got another flat??

Dude, I'm sending you a case of tubes for Christmas.

Yeah, it was on the front this time. With a new set of tires. I ran over some sort of tiny wire that too me forever to find in the tire.

Any and all tube donations will be accepted graciously. This is getting ridiculous. I'd better have like an eight month stretch of no flats coming up soon here.
