I won

Following in WR tradition:

Tour of Tuscaloosa cat 4 race, one climb, a few other hills, a field of 60 that gets sliced down to about 25 after 40 miles of people attacking and EVERYONE covering.

Coming into the last 500m hot, I had good position at around 8th. I moved up a few to swing left over the line, but the two guys there wouldn't swing out. I gave them some words and an elbow, and as soon as they moved, the red sea parted. I felt like I was playing in traffic on the freeway; switching lanes and passing people on the right. Gave it a good kick and crossed the line with about a bike length to spare.

My roommate got a video of the finish. I can't wait to see it. When I get it, I'll post a link.

Overall:

I guess this is where I'm suppose to congratulate you? I'm happy for you, yes. But I'm so dang tired of you guys shoving it in my face. I think there's some sort of conspiracy today to provoke my rage, have me spout off, and eventually kicked off the board.

It won't happen. I'm happy see: all teeth and gums. But I swear if I see one more thread titled: "I Won," I'm going off.

I didn't even ride this weekend.

But I'm submitting my thesis tomorrow.

Two years late.

So I'm hard at work instead of on the bike.

Wait.... I'm on Bikeforums... Doh!

(County time trial Wednesday though. Looking forward to that...)

I think the cameraman got a bit too excited at the finish.

he got a bit too excited. to see it well, you have to slow it down big time. I usually go frame by frame in quicktime or something. anyway, it is tough to make out what's happening. I like watching it though

After looking at the results and the USAC website, the race got me 10 upgrade points ! I have 25 now, so whenever i decide to send in the resume, i'll move up to join the 3s. I'll probably wait till after the SECCC conference championships though. The C's are TOUGH in the SECCC and there is no D category (there should be).

nice win!
imho you should race B's, or even A's, as a cat 3.
Aim high, no sense hanging around with the C sandbaggers.

Hey, I found C to be easier in SECCC than in the ACCC (or did you mean that because there are "D" riders, life is hard in the pack?), although I only did one race. You could stick around in C to encourage your friend. But remember that you can race collegiate B as a cat 4. You don't need to be cat 3. In fact, with cat 3 you can even race A.

nah there's a group of clemson riders who are tearing up the C's. I'm probably gonna submit an upgrade request to B's for the weekend in vandy.

thanks wfroggle!
