Tour of Flanders '08!!!

De Ronde van Vlaanderen is my favorite race of the year by far. The wife and I have a party every year for racing friends. Pomme frites w/ mayo, steamed mussels and Belgie bier.

Picking Boonen. He's been somewhat quiet lately on purpose.

recneps 03-31-08 11:11 AM

Pozzato hes been strong so far

Snuffleupagus 03-31-08 11:13 AM

Sylvain Chavanel.

Lithuania 03-31-08 11:38 AM

i cant wait! Im picking Vaitkus ofcourse. Hes been doing ok too.

MarkSch 03-31-08 01:05 PM

I'll put my nickle on Gilbert.

VosBike 03-31-08 01:24 PM

+1 Boonen.

Kris Flatlander 03-31-08 01:46 PM

1. Vaitkus (In a sprint out of a small group)
2. Cancellara
3. Gusev

DiabloScott 03-31-08 01:47 PM

My favorite race too.

I'm glad to see Versus decided to cover it, even if it's not live. When their early schedule came out, De Ronde wasn't on the list.

I'll say Cancellara.
And Hoste for 2nd!

Delirium Tremens or Maredsous 10 for the beers.

I want Boonen to win, but Quickstep has been "Eh". Not sure who to pick.

YMCA 04-01-08 04:34 AM

As Diablo says, Hoste is good for another 2nd.

Davey 04-01-08 05:51 AM

I don't know who will win but I'll betchoo some Slipstream rider with a crazy moustache gets into the early break.

Porter20 04-02-08 07:50 AM

Hincapie has a break out race! You heard it here first!

dws5b 04-02-08 07:50 AM

George H will win it by coming around Boonen at the finish.

I wouldn't consider it a "breakout", seeing how he has been a pro since '94 and won numerous races of stature, but it sure would be fantastic to see him get one of the monuments.

he had the power to put 'tommeke' in serious hurt 2 years ago, then his steerer decided to take a rest.

merckxxx 04-02-08 10:33 AM

Bettini is listed in the entry's on the race website

I went to the race site.. and he was listed.. they had his number already put up..

he said he has poor form and he look kind of fat in the san Remo.. but he made a pretty strong move on the cipporesa

Not in Flanders he didn't. Hincapie's best was winning the field sprint for third, over a minute behind winnaar Boonen.
