Sheesh - read this interview:

http://racerhead.org/vc_site/_fun/x_...intervue.shtml

Amazing. I wonder how old this interview is actually. (btw "VC" stands for Violet Crown - local race team). I've raced against this guy a couple of times (as has Rockets). He's constantly in the top 3 if not winning.

Can you imagine a cycling trip like the one he talked about?

Good read. Thanks. Is that from 2000 or 2001 or so?

Korioth is the one of the two guys I mark in my M35+ races. When I won M35+ last Sunday, he got 6th in the P/1/2 instead (IIRC). He's really strong, but he's also wily. Great racer.

The date on the URL suggests that it's from December, 1998.

Q:What is your greatest accomplishment on the bike?
A: Beating Lance in a sprint for a city limit sign. Who cares if he was one week out of chemo? I'll take the win any time or any way I can get it.
That's the same thing I say when I tell people I beat Lance and Eddy at Tour de Gruene years ago. Who cares if one had chemo and the other was fat.

yeah, I noticed that in my couple of races with him. Makes sense - he's got all that experience around him from riding with Lance and US Postal and Discovery... I'm sure he's "picked some stuff up" along the way.

no doubt - he hung out with dudes that accounted for 17 tour wins combined. Of course if this article was 1998 then that was before any of Lance's, but f'ing hell... And riding with them - and asking Eddy to build a bike for him... Just...wow...

'Hey, that's a nice bike'.

'Yeah, I got it custom'.

'I didn't think that Merckx had any custom bikes'.

'Well, normally they don't, but Eddy thought this setup would be optimized for me.'

nice shot! Was that the AMLI crits?

Hmmm - I think I saw him recently on a white Madone at Belterra. I'm sure he get's the hook up via Lance.

Yeah, that was the ATT Crit last year. He had just attacked, and was waiting for Matt to bridge up to him. 2 laps before his attack, I had a mechanical and DNFd I had been watching him closely... maybe this year.

Where is the link for the photos? I recall having a few pics taken when I was on the southwest turn and I was curious where they might be posted (if at all). [Yes, I was out of it enough last week to notice this!!]

Oops, nevermind, found it in the forums...
