E3 Road race and crit for me. First race this season due to achilles tendonitis, but I think I'm over it.

Signed up for E5 RR...
However, I may have to bail due to work.
Doh!
Just in case, I'll be over there training this weekend. Caroll Rd. climb is too much fun to pass up!

Yeah its tough to get rid of. But i've been training super hard lately with no complaints from
the tendons, so that's nice for now. I'll see you out there.

How did it go for everyone?
I did the RR yesterday. Mediocre placing but I'm happy because my new asthma meds are working and with my new found ability to ride over AT I was able to go to the front and split the field when I wanted to. But since I haven't been anywhere close to that kind of heart rate for three years I had no idea how long I could do it, and I went a little too long. That and another rider who braked way too much for big gnarly turn on the descent leaving a big gap that I couldn't close got me dropped from the leading group I'd helped create. But a teamate was in there and he got fourth.
Each race I learn something and get a little better. Maybe by the time I'm in the 55s I'll be able to win one.

My race pretty much involved begging and pleading on unsympathetic ears for a neutral bottle on laps 2,3 and 4. Front group was down to about 25-30 and a crash with about 6 miles to go made enough of a gap that I couldn't get back on even with the help of skandal20. Decided to just ride it home even though it meant another time up that stupid hill. Did stop to take a bottle of water from a very nice course worker. Thank You.
Sunday I can home to do the UNR 1/2/3 crit thinking it would be safer than Wente but went down in a corner and left a little flesh from my forearm on the tarmac. If bad luck comes in threes I have filled mine. 2 crashes and a double flat in a stage race.

Haha. On the start of my last lap the other guys in my chase group were making plaintive cries up the climb: "neutral water? neutral water?" No one got any.
