Help me negative split

In my last two TT's and last long hill climb I have intended to negative split. However, I get going, the wattage seems too low and my legs feel way too good and I end up pushing it and popping at the end. I think I am going to have to start really practicing this so I am going to try it on my 2X20's tonight.

I want to average 310-320 watts. How should I lay this out?

1st 1/3 300, 2/3 315, 3/3 325?

Should I break it into halves, fourths? What percentage of target wattage (let's say I am shooting for ftp) should I be targeting in each split?

Assume no wind flat course.

thanks

I ramp my effort at the halfway a little bit, then again at 3/4. You just need the discipline to ride your target wattage.

Looks like a reasonable split.

The question is, can you hold 325 for ~ 7 minutes, after having done the previous ~ 13 minutes?

If you can, go for it. Sounds like you need to make use of the most powerful word in human potential: Decide.

Decide to stick to your plan.
