Scored Some Series Points

Hi,

So I'm not a field sprinter (not fast or daring enough) and I don't have enough power to break away on my own but I did manage to score some points at Tuesday's twilight series race.

Masters 40+ (60 riders - including women and juniors)

I got 2nd in Prime-1. Very strange start to the break but three of us ended up staying away for over a lap (approx 2 miles total) for the prime sprint. I knew my teammates were blocking so I figured I better try pretty hard not to be 3rd out of three. We finished in reverse order of this photo.

Tried to get off the front a couple more time during the race but nothing worked (as usual). I decided to actually try to be there for the final sprint for the line and was just behind two guys who somehow got locked together for a moment sending one of them off the road on to the grass. I held my line and speed after seeing that.

Sounds like you had a good time.

This is how it starts. You were active on the front and trying to make things happen. Keep it up.

Hi,

I generally have a good time at races -- that's why I do them. I am also generally active at the front but also generally to no avail. I get a lot of "atta boys" but rarely am I in the money these days.

But like the room full of monkeys banging on typewriters, I keep on trying.

Hi merlin,

Sorry, but I don't get the reference.

It says you got second in the race (?) and you're 5th overall? Not a sprinter? Or maybe I'm reading something wrong.

Ten Points is a book about the Author's quest to earn ten points in his local racing series.

It's actually a pretty good book.
