Racing with the W3/4 on my new Orbea Ordu - set up with the Zipp Sub 9 and HED 3c. If it's windy (likely to be the case), I will swap the disc with my Easton Tempest tubular. I'm just not that used to the bike and the disc yet. I am first one out in my group and there is a 2 minute gap between the W 3/4 and the W Pro/1/2 - so I won't be passing anyone! Goal: don't get passed.

We're in the tandem category; we go off at 1:12:30. Our goal, as well, is to not get passed. Ha! We're not close to our fitness level at last year's TT; however, we're sporting a better tandem and more experience, FWIW.

Ride hard -- it will be windy!

a tandem time trial would be interesting. is there an "aero position" you can use on a tandem?

on a different topic:

i was going over my bike tonight to make sure it was ready for tomorrow, and apparently i had my rear wheel positioned so close in the cutout that it was rubbing. it was rubbing enough to take the paint off. im glad i found that before the race, haha.

The captain has aero bars, we wear TT helmets, and I stay tucked in as close to the captain as possible.

Stick around and watch -- some of these teams are really fast. We're the team that wants to be fast.

Keep your head down and ride like h*ll. Good luck out there.

Yummy! Errmmm, the bike, not the Diva. Not that She is bad either...oh damn. Open mouth, insert foot. Maybe it will make me more aero?

Who's gong to be the first one to critique his aero tuck while on the TT bike?

This needs to go in the "post your TT bikes" thread.

We finished in 48:30; better than last year's time & avg. mph. What should have been an 11-team category had 5 show up, and we were last. But we're really happy with our time and effort and had fun, meaning my legs are toast and a glass of wine left me nearly comatose.

Really enjoyed all the bike porn, too.

Finished in 50:01, good enough for 8th place out a field of 23 finishers in the W 3/4 category. I ended riding with the disk - one gusty crosswind threw me a bit, but no real problem. I think I would rather do an out-and-back than the 6-turn course. A great race - it was great to see my Webcor team mates and BF friends (but sorry about SSP's unfortunate crash - speedy recovery!). It was a good prep for Sattley next Sunday - need to push myself a little harder . . . .

You and Cgallaghh did great! That was a tough tandem field. Hermes and I were one of the tandem entries that did not compete - we each did the individual TTs instead. I finished in time to do the tandem but Hermes' category started just before the tandems so my captain was still on the road - besides, once was enough (although I am doing individual and tandem TTs next week at Sattley - call me crazy.)

Comatose really?

I couldnt tell. Then again bald boss man was yappy yaperson!! Your friends were cool too, I am jealous of their TT bikes! Then again everyone was.

RR--You guys were hauling in Team gear, it really was so cool

Well, I like the course, but I can do with out the wind, it hurt, bad...When I finished I was exhausted.

And here is where it went so very very wrong: I went to the start line with NO WARM UP!!!. Getting everything ready @ the house left me pulling up to the start thinking "where did all my time go?!!" Why am such a dumb A**? Why didnt I pay attention to the time??? Just dont let me throw up or not finish.
"
So my race went like:

Start, pedal, pedal ,pedal, turn left, pedal, crap wind, pedal, crap still wind, tons more pedaling, chick passes me, "hey she is California State TT champ last year, Hey !!! Why is she in my Cat?!!, tons more pedaling, and tons more wind, "doesnt this road ever fricken end ?"..pedal ,pedal ,pedal....turn right, Crikee more wind, more pedaling, and now the ouches start all the way to the right turn, pedaling, little bit of cramping...now a bit of whimpering..."wait!!! no wind, it is at my back ever so slightly...get in a bigger gear", "crap that hurts...Manny will kill me if I dont finsh"....bigger gear...pedaling faster, right turn, crap the wind changed direction, "goooooo!", 1 gear easier, "whew", pedal, pedal pedal, left turn, " I better shift to BIG gear or Manny will kill me!", chain skips pops off, "dammit", stoppped popped back on, remount & go, "ah crap in to big of a gear", drop down lots of gear, "ah ha a good gear", stand and just go, Big gear going fast, pedaling, flying, right turn, pedaling, going, legs are dying, "crap I am whimpering again", legs slowing...down a couple gears, still hurting and slowing, 1Km to go, "oh thank god!!", 500m to go, "what the frick where is the damn line?"...click in big gear, cant stand up to pedal, inhale bug...see line...cross it. Finished...saved from certain death from Manny...live to enbaress myself another day....now go start BBQ.

Fun!

Nice reports, good job everyone!

Has anyone seen results posted yet?

It was my first TT on a real TT bike and it went very well. I finished 2nd in the 35+

I saw Velodiva after the race at the awards area and sad "hello", but she just gave me a "who the heck are you?" look.

I'm looking forward to giving it another try at Sattley on Sunday.

DrWJOD - Thanks. As for the TT bike - I don't like training on it, I hate warming up on it, but I love racing on it!

Velodiva - No worries, see you Sunday!
